Biography :

Dr Michael Makanga is a clinician-scientist born and raised in Uganda with (after medical qualification) 24 years of professional experience of working on health and poverty related diseases in sub-Saharan Africa. This includes 20 years of work experience on medical product development and clinical regulatory activities. He holds a Medical Degree from Makerere University, Uganda, and has been in various clinical and research positions before and after undertaking an MSc at the University of Liverpool, and then a PhD at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, United Kingdom. He subsequently was the Head of the Clinical Trials Facility and Outpatient Clinic in the Kenya Medical Research Institute – Wellcome Trust Collaborative Centre, Kilifi, Kenya, which is part of the tropical collaboration programme of Liverpool and Oxford universities. In 2004, Dr Makanga joined EDCTP where he held various management positions. He was appointed as Director of South-South Cooperation and Head of EDCTP Africa Office in Cape Town, South Africa, in 2008. During his 11 years at EDCTP, Dr Makanga has built up significant experience in quality assurance, project management and evaluation, health and research management as well as diplomacy and engagement with health and regulatory authorities in sub-Saharan Africa and Europe.

Dr.Jorge I. González Borroto is a Toxicologist with more than 15 years of expertise in the field of Toxicology, Pharmacovigilance and Drug safety assessment. He has worked for many Pharma Companies and Contract Research Organizations. He is currently working as a Senior Toxicologist, involved in Pharmacovigilance to support the efficacy, safety and well-use of medicines, in Ferrer Internacional, Barcelona, Spain. He is also the director of in vitro and in vivo toxicological studies in drug development and drug-candidate selection. He has more than 10 years of Experience in toxicological data interpretation, preparation of nonclinical toxicology-safety report, reviews and summaries of safety of new drugs to support clinical studies, predictive toxicology, Set up and validation of novel test and cell-based assays in drug discovery. He is also the Reviewer of the Journals of Toxicology and Editorial Board Member of several scientific journals and Organizing Committee Member of several Scientific events. He has involved in the European Commission as an expert for the Sixth and Seventh Framework Programme in the area Preclinical Toxicology and Mutagenesis as well.

Dr. Paul Michael Ramirez is Professor and a former Chair of Psychology. He completed his doctoral degree in Psychology at The City College of the City University of New York (CUNY) with a specialization in Clinical Neuropsychology and a subspecialization in Clinical Psychopathology, while on a National Science Foundation Fellowship. He later completed a Postdoctoral Program in Psychopharmacology at Fairleigh Dickerson University. Dr. Ramirez also earned an M.Phil. in Psychology (Concentration in Neuropsychology) from the Graduate School & University Center, CUNY, an M.A. Degree in Psychology from the City College of New York and an M.A. Degree in Reading Disabilities with a postgraduate year studying Learning Disabilities at New York University. His clinical experience includes having served as Treatment Team Leader of the Geriatric and Neuropsychiatry Units and Acting Chief of the Research Unit of an Albert Einstein College of Medicine affiliated hospital in New York City where he also served as Director of Education for AECOM/BPC Psychopharmacology CME. He was also Senior Neuropsychologist and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Ramirez currently serves on the Board of Advisors at the Center for Advanced Studies in India (CASII-Bhuj, Kutch; also called Kachchh in the District of Gujarat) as a clinical trial expert and has been appointed to a second 5-year term on the State Psychology Board by the New York State Board of Regents, currently serving as its Chair. He has also recently completed a term as Vice President of the New York Academy of Traumatic Brain Injury. Dr. Ramirez has made over 200 professional presentations and, over the past 20 years, has provided rater training for pharmaceutical efficacy and side effects scales across CNS indications as well as for the assessment of cognitive disorders throughout North America, South America, Central America, Asia, Eastern and Western Europe, Scandinavia and South Africa. Dr. Ramirez has published papers on schizophrenia, other major mental disorders, health psychology and has been Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator on grants from the National Institute of Health (NIH), National Cancer Institute (NCI), The National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) and pharmaceutical industry sponsors. Dr. Ramirez is also listed as a contributing author of the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS), a co-author of the Informant Questionnaire for the PANSS (IQ-PANSS) and a co-author of the official Japanese translation of the PANSS.

Mircea Ciuca, MD is currently Global Head of Medical & Clinical Drug Safety at Vifor Pharma in Switzerland. He is leading a team of scientists and physicians involved in all aspects of pharmacovigilance, in both development and post-marketing settings. Mr. Ciuca has about 13 years of experience in drug safety. Prior to join Vifor Pharma he held various positions (Deputy QPPV, Senior Pharmacovigilance Medical Manager, Drug Safety Advisor) at large pharmaceutical companies in The Netherlands, after successfully establishing and leading the medical- scientific department of a medium-size CRO in Rotterdam.

He is working at present as a consultant and HOD of Pediatric Surgery in Nizwa Hospital, Oman. He published more than 10 papers in reputed Journals. Has special interest in laparoscopic surgery. He is the first one did real single port laparoscopic umbilical hernia, epigastric hernia and divarication of recti repair. And can do through the same port inguinal hernias of the same patient. Dr. Francis Paul Jagolino is a Physiology, Biochemistry and Pharmacology Professor in various medical schools in Manila and has been in the academe for 6 years. He completed his Doctor of Medicine degree at Emilio Aguinaldo College – School of Medicine and Master in Management, Major in Health Administration at Philippine Christian University. He is currently the Head of the Department of Physiology at the Lyceum of the Philippines University – St. Cabrini School of Health Sciences. Dr. Jagolino is also a Fellow of the Physiology Society of the Philippines and former President of the Philippine Society of General Physicians. Aside from teaching, Dr. Jagolino is an active General Practitioner who has been assigned to hospitals at the furthest provinces of the Philippines. It was during this time when he gained a keen interest in observing many cases of antibiotic resistance due to rampant and unsupervised use of common antibiotics by the public. He made it a point to launch Public Health Campaigns to educate patients and the populations in those provinces on the dangers posed by antibiotic resistance. Dr. Jagolino is set to publish a research on this topic within the next few years. Dr. Jagolino is also a sought after international seminar speaker having spoken on topics relating to Healthcare, Psychology, Pharmacology, Herbal Medicines and Supplementation and Skin Care as well as topics on Corporate Leadership and Management in Singapore, Malaysia, Dubai, Oman and Qatar. Responsibility

Delegates are personally responsible for their belongings at the venue. The Organizers will not be held responsible for any stolen or missing items belonging to Delegates, Speakers or Attendees; due to any reason whatsoever.

Insurance

Registration fees do not include insurance of any kind.

Transportation

Please note that any (or) all transportation and parking is the responsibility of the registrant.

Press/Media

Press permission must be obtained from allied academies Conferences Organizing Committee prior to the event. The press will not quote speakers or delegates unless they have obtained their approval in writing. The allied academies is an objective third-party nonprofit organization. This conference is not associated with any commercial meeting company.

Requesting an Invitation Letter

For security purposes, letter of invitation will be sent only to those individuals who had registered for the conference. Once your registration is complete, please contact to request a personalized letter of invitation.

Regarding refunds, all bank charges will be for the registrants account.

 

Cancellation, Postponement, and Transfer of Registration

Cancellation Policy

If an allied academy cancels this event for any reason, you will receive a credit for 100% of the registration fee paid. You may use this credit for another allied academies event which must occur within one year from the date of cancellation.

Postponement

If allied academies postpone an event for any reason and you are unable or unwilling to attend on rescheduled dates, you will receive a credit for 100% of the registration fee paid. You may use this credit for another e allied academies event which must occur within one year from the date of postponement.

Transfer of registration

All fully paid registrations are transferable to other persons from the same organization if registered person is unable to attend the event. Transfers must be made by the registered person in writing to clinicaltrials@pathologycongress.com. Details must be included the full name of replacement person, their title, contact phone number and email address. All other registration details will be assigned to the new person unless otherwise specified.

Registration can be transferred to one conference to another conference of Allied Academies. if the person is unable to attend one of the conferences.

However, Registration cannot be transferred if it is intimated within 14 days of the respective conference.

The transferred registrations will not be eligible for Refund.

Visa Information

Keeping in view of increased security measures, we would like to request all the participants to apply for Visa as soon as possible.

Allied academies will not directly contact embassies and consulates on behalf of visa applicants. All delegates or invitees should apply for Business Visa only.

Important note for failed visa applications: Visa issues cannot come under the consideration of cancellation policy of Allied academies, including the inability to obtain a visa.

Refund Policy

If the registrant is unable to attend and is not in a position to transfer his/her participation to another person or event, then the following refund arrangements apply:

Keeping in view of advance payments towards Venue, Printing, Shipping, Hotels and other overheads, we had to keep Refund Policy is as following slabs-

Before 60 days of the conference: Eligible for Full Refund less $100 Service Fee

Within 60-30 days of Conference: Eligible for 50% of payment Refund

Within 30 days of Conference: Not eligible for Refund

E-Poster Payments will not be refunded.

All the refunds will be processed after the conference only.

Accommodation Cancellation Policy

Accommodation Providers (Hotels) have their own cancellation policies, and they generally apply when cancellations are made less than 30 days prior to arrival. Please contact us as soon as possible, if you wish to cancel or amend your accommodation. Allied academies will advise the cancellation policy of your accommodation provider, prior to canceling or amending your booking, to ensure you are fully aware of any non-refundable deposits.
